Privacy notice

Who we are
Blade Decorating is a painting and decorating business based in Stoke-on-Trent. We decide how the details you send us are used, which makes us the “controller” of that information under UK data protection law.
Our website and enquiry inbox are provided by Anvul, which stores and processes enquiries on our behalf.
What we collect
When you use the message form we collect what you choose to give us: your name, mobile number, postcode (optional), what needs doing, your message and any photos you add. We also keep a note of when you sent it.
If you text Blade or message him on WhatsApp, he sees your number and anything you send. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp LLC and its own privacy policy applies to messages sent through it.
How we use it
Only to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, price the job and, if you go ahead, to carry out and invoice the work. We do this because you asked us to (taking steps before a contract) and because it is in our legitimate interest to respond to enquiries.
We don’t sell your details, and we don’t use them for marketing unless you ask us to keep in touch.
Cookies and visit counts
This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
We count visits to this site, and taps on its call, WhatsApp, text, email and enquiry buttons, so Blade Decorating can see whether the site is working. This counting is done by Anvul for us, uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Your IP address and browser type are used only for a moment, to tell one visit from another on the same day, through a code that changes every day and is then deleted; neither is ever stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, you are not counted.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t go ahead are deleted within 12 months. If you become a customer, we keep job and invoice records for as long as the law requires for tax purposes, normally six years.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Call, text or WhatsApp 07767 360362 and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
